They were too different families that were on line to the throne to England that fought in the Wars of the Roses.
it was a battle between the Yorkists and the Lancastrians. It was called the war of roses because the Yorkists were represented by a white Rose and the Lancastrians by a Red Rose.

Henry VI was King of England between 1422-1461 and again 1470-71. He reigned during the Wars of the Roses when the crown was disputed between Yorkists and Lancastrians.
The roses were red and white after the Yorkist symbol of the red rose and the Lancastrian symbol of the white rose. The wars were between the Yorkists and Lancastrians. Correction: The house of York was symbolized by a white rose and Lancaster by a red, not the other way around.

The Wars of the Roses was first won by the Yorkists with their white rose, hence Edward IV became king of England. However after Henry Tudor's rebellion in 1485 and his victory at the Battle of Bosworth the Lancastrians finally won the Wars of the Roses. Henry was crowned Henry VII and united the two families by marrying Elizabeth of York. There were two main rebellions by Perkin Warbeck and Lambert Simmel but these rebellions were crushed easily and posed little threat to the crown
The Wars of the Roses were civil wars where each faction wanted control over the crown of England. You could say England won the Wars of the Roses, but England also lost the wars.
