Lugia will win becuase he is the best. Also lugia knows hydro pump wich is water type move, and ho- oh is a fire and flying type. Since fir types are weak against water type moves. Lugia will win!

All these answers are true. Lugia would beat up Ho-oh. Lugia has the advantage, living in the ocean and never coming out until the world is in grave danger, meaning if Ho-oh and Lugia got into a fight, Lugia could drag Ho-oh into the depths of the ocean. But, Lugia and Ho-oh are placid and extremely rare. I don't think they would ever encounter each other and if that is the case I don't think they'd have a punch up.

∙ 14y agoThey're the same because even though Lugia has a better chance at beating Ho-Ho,Sacred Fire can burn the foe and Aeroblast can't do any statue problems on anyone.

∙ 12y agoi think ho-oh is powerful than lugia becuz he has a very very high attack ratio (327) even mewtwo doesnt have this attack ratio plus, the high special defend that ho-oh has. even if lugia has Hydro Pump it still cant beat ho-oh from one hit. believe me guys one Ancientpower can faint lugia.
not to mention that lugia can be hurt by electric,ice,rock,ghost and dark and
ho-oh can be hurt by electric, rock and water.

∙ 10y agoLugia is a ton better than Ho oh, he is psychic and flying so fire wont effect that much plus Ho oh is part fire and lugia learns water moves so it would destroy it!
personally i also think lugia looks a ton cooler than ho oh. ho oh is the Justin Bieber of Pokemon (gay)
here are reasons why your theory is TOTALLY WRONG: #1 WHO CARES WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE? IT HAS NO EFFECT ON ITS POWER!#2 Ho-Oh can learn a LOT of moves not fire like PUNISHMENT!
#3 Ho-Oh can use flying-type moves like Brave Bird or Aerial Ace
#4 Its fire attacks are VERY strong like Sacred Fire, Fire Blast and Sunny Day.
But honestly I think they are Equal. There are no real type advantages, it's just which YOU like better -- Ho-Oh or Lugia. OR u could look at it like this: Kyogre (HG w/ Ho-Oh) or Groudon (SS w/ Lugia). I picked HG (Ho-Oh) Because I like fire types. But if you like Legendaries with various types you should pick SS (Lugia) because Ho-Oh and Moltres are the exact same type (Fire, Flying)

∙ 14y agoNo, there both the same, Fire and Flying (Ho-oh's types) has the same effectiveness on Psychic and Flying. (Lugia's Types) It is true that Lugia learns some mint Water type moves, but still there pretty much the same. I think Lugia is a bit more powerful. Ho-oh is still a pretty awesome Pokemon though.

It is very hard to get Lugia, you need to get the Mystic Ticket from the special event. You can do this by mixing records with a person who has the mystic ticket. Then, show it to the Boat Captain (perhaps Cap. Stern, I'm not sure) and s/he will take you to Navel Island, where Lugia is. Ho-oh is also here, but you need the Aurora Ticket.This is just what I heard, I'm not sure it works, so sorry if it doesnt.

If you think stat wise Ho Ho is a bit higher in attack but yet again Lugia is pretty strong. I got Soul silver by watching lugia vs ho ho battles on YouTube. One of my favorite moves for lugia is aroa blast, but lugia is flying and water, and ho ho is fire, which makes lugia stronger.
