The negative terminal is grounded to complete the electrical circuit, all other negatives in the vehicle i.e. lights, switches, etc are grounded so it really just saves a lot of wire and makes running wire easier and more convenient.

Why as signal is usually grounded?

If meant ac signal then it is grounded so that the reference voltage is 0 & we get +ve voltage.

What leads do you ground on a Direct Current cricuit?

-ve lead is grounded

What is meant by the Electromotive Force of a battery?

Basically this is a battery force which makes the generation of current possible in a battery...... (I am NOT sure of my language) Like in a battery, electrons are attracted towards +ve end,,, they must come and sit there and like wise electrons will assemble there ,"then how does the battery function how does battery collect +ve charge on -ve plate(for this -ve charges have to be sent from -ve plate)" There comes the EMF It a kind of tweezes out electrons from +ve plate and working against pull of +ve plate it places electrons on -ve plate. From there then electrons are sent to +ve plate through the circuit, or other way +ve charges are collected........ Got IT? Not then post another question......

How do you connect the parts of a simple electric circuit together so that the light bulb lights up?

Simply connect the -ve of the bulb to -ve of the battery and +ve of bulb to +ve of battery using an electrically conductive wire, the bulb will light automatically.

Why are most cars negative ground?

any any one positive or negative has to be grounded to reduce wire length , normally -ve is chosen as ground any any one positive or negative has to be grounded to reduce wire length , normally -ve is chosen as ground

How do you ground in dc circuits. I've seen many circuits around the net with plus ve terminal from the battery and no -ve terminal to the battery and ground symbols.. wat to do in these circumstances?

The physical body of your DC Equipment is always your GROUND. This GROUND is where you also connect your -VE.

How do you jump start the 2003 Saturn vue?

Remove the cover on the fuse box by pressing the tabs on either side, then find the remote positive terminal. Attach your red jumper cable to the terminal and the +ve terminal of the charged battery and the black cable to the -ve terminal of the charged battery and the -ve battery terminal or the chassis of the car to be jumped.

How do protons attract electrons through a wire?

firstly you need a battery or a cell to produce a p.d or to produce current (flow of electrons). the opp charges will always attract each other. therefore, the electrons travel through the wire from the -ve terminal of the battery to the +ve.

What does in series mean?

the back to back connection of any component is called series connectionfor exampleif u have 2 battery's with u . u wanna connect them in series thenone of the positive end is taken +ve terminal and the another end of the same battery must be connected to the +ive end of the another battery and then take the -ve terminal from the another end of the second battery

How do you replace the alternator on a 1980 Volvo 240 GL?

Disconnect battery....... then the screw on terminal goes to battery( thick red wire)........ the green or white goes to Alternator field.........the Black to Regulator -ve......the red or brown goes to reg. +ve.....There should be a plug, its pretty straight forward.

How do you know which way the electrons travel in standard cell notation?

In an ordinary electrical cell (commonly called a battery) the electrons will travel from the -ve terminal through the circuit to the +ve terminal. [Hope I understood your question.]

What is three divided by negative three?

Division by negative numbers follow the same rule as multiplication. That is, (-ve and +ve) or (+ve and -ve) make -ve (-ve and -ve) or (+ve and +ve) make +ve. So the absolute value of 3/(-3) is 1 and the sign is (+ve and -ve) = -ve so that the answer is -1.
