If there is no spark on any plug, your problem is most likely in the distributor or the coil. I'd start by replacing the cap and rotor. If you already tried that, try again. Sometimes the parts guy can transpose a number and you get a rotor that is just a hair too short. (happened to me on a Ford 302 HO). If that doesn't work, try replacing the coil and wires. Then on to the points. And that's all that makes up your ignition that would affect all 8 plugs at the same time.
My 1998 Jeep Wrangler turns over great but will not start. What are the choices to be checked out?
Not quite sure what you are looking for? Do you mean ign. module? Like you have no spark? yes no spark or very little.....car motor turns but will not start
dont no
It is getting fuel/spark/ compression?
The motor turns and doesn't start is it blocked?
you have either no gas or no spark maybe both
check the spark plugs. may not be catching fire.
It is either getting no fuel or no spark.
turn the key the motor turns over but will not start
you mean the starter just freely spins and does not turn the engine? replace starter if the engine turns but does not start its either a fuel, spark, or compression problem. read up on how to check that.
An engine which cranks but will not start is not receiving enough fuel or has no spark. A clogged fuel filter or bad spark plugs often cause this problem.
Fuel, and spark. Check for these first.
