Jehovah's Witnesses view the matter of dating as serious. We believe that dating is for the purpose of finding a suitable marriage mate. If a person is not old enough to be married, then really what reason do they have for dating? Dating just for recreational purposes can be dangerous given all the problems that can come up. Fornication which is sex outside of marriage is condemned in The Bible. In fact, the Bible says that "fornicators...will not inherit God's Kingdom."(1Corinthians 6:9) So, sex with someone you are not married to puts us at odds with God Himslef according to the Bible. (Hebrews 13:4) In the world however, sex among those who are dating, is considered normal activity. People who are dating for the purpose of recreation are putting themselves in danger of falling into premarital sexual relations, which as previously pointed out, is contrary to what God says in the Bible. So, dating is a serious matter. In view of all this, Jehovah's Witness parents ususally do not allow their minor children to engage in one-on-one dating. On the other hand, in most cases young Jehovah's Witnesses usually will go out in groups of young people for various activities such as movies, sports, etc. When a Jehovah's Witness reaches a point in their life that marriage is a possibility, then that person may want to find someone to marry. If that is the case, the Bible states to "marry only in the Lord." (1 Corinthians 7:39) We understand that to mean that we should not marry outside of our faith. That being the case, dating outside of our faith would also not be recommmended. Jehova witness religion is different than regular scociety, they just believe diferently than we do.They also believe that making a strong bond with someone out of there religion will create many problems, especailly if the relashionship escalates to something more serious.
The choice to date whoever and whenever is an individual choice. Witnesses do have guidelines to help with that decision. What is the reason for dating? Many today feel it is just time they can spend with those of the opposite sex. However to a witness it is part of the process to choose a mate. Wanting to keep high moral standards witnesses would have chaperoned dates with those who have the same regard for high moral standards. It is not a case that Witness do not allow but we choose to seek out others who respect the bible like we do. We commit to a standards that is different from what many feel today and consumes some of our time. If the dating progressed to marriage who the mate who is not a member have respect for the beliefs and activities the member continues to be involved in? Would the non-member mate what the member to be involved in some of his beliefs which may be contrary to a witnesses beliefs?
These and many other situations help the member to reason where the best choice for dating will be. If you are interested in someone who is a witness ask them why the feel so strongly about their beliefs. To witnesses marriage is a very sacred union that requires the full commitment given by both parties forever. To maintain the greatest chance for success spiritual compatibility would be essential.
.
Just ask him or her out i mean if you want to go out and if you cant respecct there religon then why even bother to try...Just to let you know if she is a strong Jehovah Witness her parents won't allow her to date unless you are a Witness as well.
Yes, if his or her parents allow it. Most Jehovah's Witness parents however would not.
A Jehovah's Witness would know and if you have a computer check jw.org
Even though i don't quite know what Jehovah is....... if you two really like each other than you's should date
Sure. Why not.
He is not supposed to but I have known many who do.
They can't date a non- Jehovah Wittness. It's not a matter of age, in general Jehovah's Witnesses do not date or marry people that are not of their faith. A minor child under the legal guard of an adult would of course be subject to their wishes. An adult is free to date at they chose but most Jehovah's Witnesses chose to respect the bible mandate to seek a partner who is a fellow worshipper of Jehovah.
A true Jehovah's Witness would never date a non-Jehovah's Witness. JWs are taught that dating is for those who are ready for marriage. Marriage is a sacred bond that two like souls share and JWs only marry JWs or even date JWs because their lives revolve around what they are taught and when they date or marry a person who shares these same principles, ideals and beliefs it makes the relationship run extremely smooth and that much more enjoyable for both parties involved. For more information ask a Jehovah's Witness when you see them or go to your local Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness' and ask anyone for more information on the matter. I hope this helped and I hope you find your answer.:-)
