Baghdad Pact was deactivated in 1979 because of the differences among the member countries. Baghdad Pact was formed by Iran, Pakistan, Iraq, UK and Turkey. The basic purpose of Pakistan joining this Pact was to give a halt to USSR expansion and save Muslim countries from becoming Russian colonies.
