1) not enough support- without any support any rebellion or capaign would die out very much more quickly 2) stronger suppresion- if the opposition is stronger and suppress your rebellion or outshine your campaign, it may overthrow your position and therefore, failing the rebellion/campaign 3) lack of funds- if the funds are insufficient, not enough would be able to have been done to support the cause or give out free badges/flags and anything commonly used to campaigns[esp. when electing a governing body] 4) not the right time- if the campaign/rebellion starts at the wrong time and people don't see the urgent need to support its cause, then it would be destined for failure as without support, it cannot survive[refer to point 1] I hope this information has helped.
