apple computers aren't much more expensive than a PC when you calculate the costs you will have to make when you have a PC. If you buy a mac, there is already software installed that you really need. You maybe will have to install a version of Microsoft office fo mac or iwork but that's it ! No more costs! But if you buy a PC, you will have to buy Microsoft office, an anti-virus program (not needed on a mac!), more software you will need to run your PC well. And after a time you will need to upgrade your PC with new hardware, because if you update from windows vista to windows 7, it could be that your computer has not enough RAM memory... But if you update the software on a mac than nothing has to change with your hardware. If you count up all this cost you will have to make than a mac won't be more expensive.

here I've made a comparison between a dell and a mac

Dell Inspiron 580S

screen, keyboard and mouse included

= $749

+ antivirus software (norton antivirus) = +- $100 (one year ! and you're going to use your PC for 3 years !)

+ internet security = +- $65

+ office = +- $100

total = $1014

Apple iMac

mac is in the screen => screen included, mouse and keyboard also included

= $1229

no anti-virus needed

office for mac = +- $100

total = $1329

difference = $300

Was Apple the first computers made?

No. The first computer that resembles modern computers was made in the early to mid 40s. They were considerably larger and less capable than today's computers, but they were computers none the less. Apple released their first computer kit - the Apple I Personal Computer Kit in 1976.

Why virus attacks are less in UNIX as compared to windows?

Windows computers are the target of almost every computer virus on the planet because Windows is the most popular type of OS (Operating System). Think about it, if almost 94% of the population who have computers on Earth are using Windows, don't you think hackers and virus writers will take advantage of that and aim at every Windows computer? Apple computers and like you stated, Unix computers, are less vulnerable to virus attacks because the majority of computers are Windows (that's not to say you still can't get a virus if you have Apple or Unix).

Why is apple better than dell?

It is all a matter of opinion, but Dell computers are significantly less expensive than Apple computers. I suggest going to your local BestBuy and checking them out for yourself. The above answer is correct, it is a matter of opinion. I have owned them both and now own nothing but Apple. Dell makes cheap computers and they also make excellent computers that are just as expensive as an Apple. But either way you will get the Windows OS and that is the problem. Apple computers run on the OSx operating system. Apple makes excellent computers built with quality parts and there are no cheap Apple computers. Apple also makes all the software that comes on that Apple computer unlike Windows which makes very little software. Apple software works flawlessly with OSx. Apple computer also do not need security software no matter what Windows users tell you. Been using my iMac for 5 years with not one infection. There has never been a real world virus to infect OSx. OSx also does not have a registry which is a big plus. Apple computers are IMO, easier to use than a Windows PC.

Why spend more on apple computer?

On average, an Apple Macintosh stays useful longer than a typical PC. A typical PC user may purchase 2 computers versus the 1 computer a Macintosh user in the same amount of time. This answer is all based on anecdotal evidence. May I add that Apple builds no cheap computers and Apple actually builds it. Unlike Windows who only build software. If you compare an Apple computer with a similar Windows computer of the same quality there is very little difference in price. A Mac is also faster, easier to use, requires no security software, that will slow it down and holds it's value. Remember the old adage, you get what you pay for. Apple computers are not perfect but they have far less problems than Windows computers.

Why are computers becoming smaller faster less costly more reliable and easier to use?

because they have to match the customer demands. The Customer pushes the companies to be more competitive

Is there any virus made for mac?

At any one time, the answer to this question could vary. In general, Macs are less prone to viruses than Windows-based computers. This is in part due to the smaller market share of Apple/Mac computers, and also due to the general design and architecture of the Apple computers. In short, you shouldn't assume that because you have a Mac you are immune from attack, but your chances of being "infected" are much lower. You should still take appropriate measures to safeguard your computer per recommendations posted on the Apple website.
