Christianity and modern, rabbinic Judaism are similar because they both arose out of Second Temple Judaism. Dr. Lawrence Schiffman says: "Second Temple Judaism can now be seen as a transition period in which the sectarianism and apocalypticism of the period gradually gave way to rabbinic Judaism, on the one hand, and Christianity, on the other. "
Islam is similar to Judaism and Christianity because it arose out of the two earlier faiths.
In reality, there truly is no similarity to best describe the Judeo-Christian beliefs of God to the Muslim Islamic belief.
Judaism and Christianity have the Old Testament in common. Islam believes both OT and NT have been partially corrupted in transmission while the Koran is believed by Muslims to be the final and infallible revelation of God's will.
Though Muslims believe in God which they call Allah, Islam teaches that Allah is all-powerful, sovereign and 'unknowable' while Judaism and Christianity both teach the Creator God to be revealed as merciful, compassionate and knowable (see Jeremiah 9:24 and John 17:3).
The Christian text teaches the God of the Old Testament was the Word and it was He who Abraham and the other patriarchs and prophets worshiped. Islam teaches the Word, aka Jesus 'as one of perhaps 124,000 messengers of prophets Allah has sent and is one of the 25 listed in the Koran - but He is not the redeemer' (Marvin Olasky, "Islam vs. Liberty," World, Sept 10, 2011).
All in all, there are more differences and conflicts between the Judeo-Christian texts and the Muslim text, as well as the Koranic conflicts with secular history.
Christianity and Islam both came out of Judaism, so naturally they have many similarities to Judaism and to each other. Judaism and Christianity have the Tanakh or Old Testament in common, while the Koran of Islam is loosely based on the Old and New Testaments.
They're similar in the fact that they have one god (Allah in Islam, Yahweh in Christianity.)

Christianity and Judaism
Abraham is considered the father of Judaism, Christianity and Islam as the Old Testament's 5 books of Moses - The Pentateuch (books are: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numeri and Deuteronomy) are included in the Holy Book of Judaism that is Torah. Eventually he is considered as the father of Islam basically claims entire religions of Judaism and Christianity as "prophets" and predecessors of Islam.
The question should be " What does Christianity have to do with Jews (or Judaism)?" Judaism is like a tree where Christianity is its branch and Islam is it leaves. Christianity is based on Judaism and Islam is based on Christianity. The major difference between the three is that Judaism doesn't have jesus in it unlike Christianity and Islam.
