Why is fender guitar so good?

Gibson Guitars were good when they were hand made, and most, but not all, are today. Gibson has been bought and sold over the years. Like most companies, they are living on their name. They were great guitars because they were hand made and used high-end parts. They were made with precision and not mass produced by automated processes. They did, and some still do, have the right combination of neck, fret and body woods along with quality electonics.

• portable
• inexpensive to own
• easy to play (in the early stages)
• extremely versatile (capable of playing chords, notes, and more)
• used in a wide range of Music Genres
• some people use it to try and impress others

i have a Gibson sg special in cherry red and i love it! absolutley briliant to play! it is a good guitar for driving rock, metal, and even some clean poppy sounds. if you are interested in playing Jet, Wolfmother, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Bachman Turner Overdrive ect then this is the perfect guitar for you. it has a very thin neck (at least the one i have does), and the quality of the wood and pickups are very good. it is lightweight, and like i said before, has a very flowing neck that someone with short fingers can easily use.

However. you will NOT like the Gibson sg if these apply to you

You want to play U2 exactly like on the record (echoy sounding songs ect)

You want a pop guitar/country guitar for twangy/echoy/soft sounds

You are a crazy metalhead and need an uber thin neck like on super strats

You absolutley need a whammy bar for your style of music (allthough you can install 1)

Ironically, at least part of the reason Fender guitars are so good is that Leo Fender was not a guitarist - he was an electrical engineer and designer. He designed the guitar from the ground up as a workingman's tool, with tolerances to the ten-thousandths, replaceable parts, comfort in use, etc, etc. Add his genius for design - he got things right the first time, virtually everytime - and that is why Fender's guitars are so good.

Many people consider Gibsons to be the best guitars ever made. Gibson guitars are definitely quality instruments, made of fine woods and good quality parts.
