Cats are good to have as pets for many reasons. One of their biggest factors besides their lovability is that they are not hard to take care of. All a cat needs is food, fresh water, a place to eat and defecate, and love. It is vital they are not deprived of these. However other than those, a cat does not require anything else to be your happy pet. Also, cats can handle being alone for a few days while you vacation, as long as you leave them plenty of food and water to accommodate those days. Cats do not bark, and they take care of any mice, voles or rats that might be living with you. With some breeds of cats, you can even teach them tricks, such as fetch.

They are friendly, loving, playful creatures. Kittens can provide endless entertainment with their antics any hour.

Well, one of the reasons is that it wouldn't be very nice to turn them out, but there are other reasons as well. Pets usually provide happiness, and if you live alone, or your parents are out all the time, or you just need someone, pets can provide that kind of companionship, especially if it's a cat or dog. Sometimes your pet can even help you live longer, through making you happy, and it just feels nice to know that something will always love you, even though everyone else might hate you. And you can tell your pet anything, and it can't tell anyone else, which is a good thing, if you just need to tell someone something, and you don't know who to trust.
