I have a 98 sunfire gt and i have only high beams which only switch on sometimes and no low beams just day lights my shop told me it could be wiring or turn signal switch they looked and determined it was the switch so i just ordered it. They can be found on carpartwholesale.com or autopartwarehouse.com for only 30 or 70 with cruise control. only need a torx wrench and small screwdriver to replace it just snaps into the wiring harness.
Does the car have fog lights? I have a 2003 Sunfire that the high beams would not work on. This was caused by a short in the fog light wiring. I had the fog lights rewired separate from the harness (about $100) and the problem was fixed.
Seperate circuits I believe.
check your fues
check fuse for the running light module.
i have the same problem.did you find out what it was? maintenance@rescraft.com
Have you checked the drl relay?
As a guess both low beams are burnt out The daytime running and high beams are the same light filament. Or the fuse or the relay for the low beams.
Low beams are burned out.
I had a similar problem where just one of the daytime running lights didn't work, this was also accompanied by one of the high beams not working. The wiring for that circuit is exposed too much and is subject to corrosion. Test the wiring at different points until you find the short, or see the corroded wires. Once you find the problem , its an easy cut-and-repair job. Hope that helps.
These lights have 2 different "lights" in each of them. This occurs frequently. Change out the bulb and everything will be working fine once again.
I have the HID headlights for low beam and the halogen lights for high beams. The halogen lights also serve as daytime running lights. I noticed one day that the running lights weren't working and the high beams weren't either. I traced the problem to the light bulb socket--seemed one of the connectors in the socket had gotten hot and melted the socket. I replaced the socket (passenger side) and both started working (evidently they are wired in series). After about 7 months I noticed them off again. I looked and the same socket (passenger side) had melted again. I went to the auto parts place and bought a "heavy duty" socket and replaced it again. After 1 year they are both still working.
Im Assuming you Should Check The Whole Lighting System. Usually it NOT the switch but could be. suprised me once when it was, but again usually not. The Daytime lights a separate from the Regular beams, check the high and low beams next before anything else. maybe just an old light that decided to Crap out?
