Best Answer

It's because of the food they eat.

Inside cats are fed cat food, and cat food usually makes a cat gain more weight because some of the cat food ingredients.

Now, a outside cat doesn't eat cat food. A outside cat eats stuff like mice and birds. Mice and birds don't have the ingredients cat food does. And outside cats have to hunt the mice and birds, and sometimes the cats don't catch the mice or birds. Sometimes it catches somthing sucessfully and sometimes it doesn't.

Does a cat live outside or inside longer?

Indoor cats usually live longer than outdoor cats because outside cats are able to get more diseases, rabies, or hurt/killed by another animal. Indoor cats are less likely to get diseases or get rabies, which is why it is incredibly important to vaccinate your cat when required, especially when it is allowed to be outside. Outdoor cats are also at risk of being hit by cars. A cat cannot outrun a car, and such incidents are very common.

Why do potato chip bags expand while flying on an airplane?

As you get further from sea level, the air gets thinner; when you fly in a plane they keep the air inside thicker than the air outside so you can breathe easily, but it's still thinner than on the ground. A chip bag is sealed on the ground, so when it gets up to where the air is thin the pressure inside is still the same as it was down near sea level; that means the chip bag swells as pressure inside stays the same but pressure outside drops.
