Why are people bad and mean?

Because many people are insecure, and do not know how to handle their insecurity. They take it out on something, and, in the case of animal abusers, on animals. Some others find it amusing to do so (though this is often from insecurity), and some even derive profit from it. In many cases, people think or have been taught to think that other animals (humans are irrevocably animals) are not important, are dispensable, or even that it is the moral duty of humans to kill or brutalize animals (this is commonly a conservative religious view). Some people simply do not think about what they do. As in any scenario, people vary.

Because those people are just big JERKS!!!!! Animals have rights too and people who don't let that show are just filthy jerks! I mean seriously who would want to hurt such a sweet face?

Some people abuse animals because they have a hard life and they take it out on the animals or they want money or some crap like that but that is not fair to the animals. I could never imagine hurting my animals, and like I said before people who do hurt animals are JERKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i rest my case

Human behavior is influenced by both physiological and environmental factors.Chemical imbalances in our brains, nutritional deficiencies, even food allergies can cause erratic, violent, irrational or just 'off' behaviors.Environmental factors that can influence our behavior may sometimes include what we see on TV or hear in song lyrics, video games or peer behavior.However, more than those factors, our behavior is most profoundly influenced by our home environment as we grow through our childhood. What we see and experience at home tend tomold who we will become. Like the old saying says, 'The apple doesn't fall far from the tree'.I don't believe anyone is born "bad and mean", we are made that way by what we see, hear, experience and learn.
