Becuase the animals' body that your cloning, their organs will be the same in the new animal, the same age as well. For instance, a sheep was cloned and the new sheeps' organs were the same age (old) as the sheep that it had been cloned from.

People are afraid of cloning because cloning is categorized in the unknown. One is scared of the unknown.

They also believe that, if we perfect cloning, and use what we know about the Human Genome, then we would be able to control the traits of our offspring, and that seems to many people to be interfering with Natural Selection and/or the role of God as Creator.

You can thank Hollywood for that. To the uninformed, cloning is the growing of a whole body for replacement parts and the harvest thereof when fully grown. The idea is frightening but not the way it is really done. It is also the way in which cells were collected. It is a moral dilemma for some, based on religious ethics and the possibilities that human life and parts could be replicated by scientists. Warehouses full of mindless bodies waiting to be sliced and diced for the rich like in the movies terrify the vehemently opposed. Cloning now has come so far that cells from the living patient can be collected and engineered to grow specific parts, like skin and tissue for grafting. Organs are next and may already be being done in some labs. Imagine if your child's heart was failing and a doctor could grow a replica of the one she/he needed in a matter of weeks?
