1. Most premature babies born to Jehovah's Witnesses survive quite well without blood transfusions. In fact, in most cases involving anyone, prematurity does not call for blood transfusions. 2. There is no obligation to the Watchtower to refrain from the use of blood. 3. Jehovah's Witnesses who may be medically advised to take blood refuse to do so on the basis of what the Bible says, in Acts 15:28 & 29, as well as in other places. 4. It is becoming more and more evident with the passing of time that those patients who refuse blood generally are actually better off medically than those who accept it. However, a recent study found the blood stored in donor banks may not be as safe as once thought.
