sepharadic Jews are people of meditranian backround, same as most Greeks and Italians with J2 paternal DNA,so if you consider Greeks and Italians to be whites then Sepharadic jewes are whites as well.

Answer:

The comment above is mistaken. There is no such thing as a mediterranean race, and most of the so called Mediterranean nations in Europe are not fully mediterranean. They vary in phenotype & looks. Jews have nothing to do with Southern Europeans, especially Separadic Jews. Some Ashkenazi Jews may cluster with Sicilians only because Ashkenazi Jews aquired much Southeast European maternal DNA. Ashkenazi are of mixed ancestry. However even Ashkenazi Jews are distinct from ALL European populations and still have more in common and are much closer geneticaly to people in the Middle East aka Semites; while Greeks and Italians are related to other Europeans. Hair, Eye, and Skin color have almost nothing to do with race. And even if it did, most Italians are a fair olive color NOT brown or tan. They only get that way by tanning; but untanned, they are pale olive. They just lack pink undertones like Northern Europeans.

Secondly, J2 is only found in a small percentage in Southern Europe. Most of Southern Europe is Haplogroup R1b just like the rest of Western Europe.

Besides many people link J2 with Roman heritage, since it is found mostly in all the Regions Romans have been in. Romans were white caucasians.
