lets understand something,

-there are amazing big highways here which you can speed easily on which increases the risk of accidents,

-the roads are very smooth in Riyadh Especially, hence very bad traction when in need to stop.

-most cars are big (gas guzzlers) usually American made GMC especially.

-most family cars are driven by expat drivers (Indian's, Pakistanis, etc.) when you have a driver who's most experience was driving a small TOK TOK, and now he is trying to handle this mighty machine it could have a severe outcome.

-weather is the last factor, Saudi is hot hot hot most of the year, Tires,Brakes, react differently in hot weather and requires a longer time to brake.

personally First thing i did when i came here is buy a Volvo due to the mentioned facts.
