Why are there no prophets needed after Muhammad?

It is per God will to have prophet Muhammad as the last prophet, the Qur'an as the last God holy book, and Islam per Qur'an revelation to prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as the last God religion.

This explains:

• why Qur'an is the only holy book that is revealed and still recited in its original language that is still a live language
• why Qur'an includes many scientific statements that are only validated with current advances in sciences and technology
• all prophet Muhammad sayings and practices are well recorded to adopted in ritual worships and morals. Prophet Muhammad is the model for the father, the grandfather, the friend, the brother, the warrior the husband, the forgiving, and model for all aspects of life.

Qur'an says (meaning English translation):

"This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion. But whoever is forced by severe hunger with no inclination to sin - then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful" (5:3)

To answer that question, we shall know what is the history of religion and the sequence with which religion improved through time:

The sequence of prophets Allah sent to his people was well organized:

1- the message of prophets developed as people's lives and minds developed.

At 1st, messages emphasized on worshiping Allah, without demanding any physical duties from people, like fasting as e.g.

As people's experiences and knowledge developed, their moralities became softer; minds became more open & ready for more understanding.

2- Judaism was nearly the 1st message that demanded some duties from its followers, like fasting and prayer, but still many issues concerning daily life didn't show up, as their minds were not yet ready for the change.

Christianity came to make some other developments.Then Islam came to fulfill all the needs of mankind, to seal the religion, the Deen (the Arabic word of religion, the word is also singular, with no plural), and to make the right clear for the next coming nations until Allah inherits earth.

3- In each religion, there were unlawful people, who were not sincere in transferring the message, they added and deleted in their books, fro their own benefits, to assure they will have power over their nations, something Allah was not satisfied with; those people were the 1st to fight Islam from its beginning till now.

But, in Islam, Allah said: "We have, without doubt, sent down the Message; and We will assuredly guard it (from corruption)."

The above are solely orthodox Islamic perspectives. There are other offshoots of Islam, such as Baha'i, Druze, Ahmadiyya, Alawites, Alevis, etc. who have additional prophets and claim that Islam did not meet the burden of proving that there was no longer a need for a prophet.

However, the orthodox Islamic view is that because Mohammed revealed that he was the final seal of the prophets, that no other prophet would be necessary.
