Battery light usually means alternator not charging. Most common solutions would be be a bad alternator, bad connection, or loose alternator belt. If the battery and alt test ok than check the connections to the alternator and battery.

Check your alternator, Mine did the exact thing. The Battery light and the !!BRAKE!! Light came on and couldn'y figure it out for the hell of me, did volt tests while running and only had 12.5 volts on the battery. once a car starts the bttery is not more necessary to run the car . the generator takes over. in this case i think the regulator failed and the battry since is connected died also.
