Open the image in Photoshop, Select the Eyedropper tool to pick up the foreground and background color of the logo so that they are set as the foreground and background color in photoshop (white should be foreground) choose 'Image', 'Adjustments' and go to 'Gradient Map...' If the background is not right (not 100% white) then click on the gradient itself and move the white color stop to the middle until the background is 100% white. Click OK and you're done

double click on foreground or background swatch at left side of screen, on tools palette, it will open new window where you can choose color
click on image with eyedroper selected on specific color you want to use, this will place that color as foreground color
Open the colors window and you can select a color.You are painting with Foreground color when using Brush tool. You can change Foreground color in few different ways, easiest is to click square with foreground color (square that appears on the top) which is located at bottom of Tools panel on the left side of screen. When foreground color is clicked that will open Color Picker (Foreground Color) dialog where you can change foreground color numerically or simply clicking on color of your choice with left mouse button.
Color Replacement Tool you can use to replace existing colors on image with Foreground color by painting with brush.
Press letter D on keyboard for default colors black/white, press X on keyboard to revert default collors, click on color picker and choose color in Color Picker dialog or choose color from Swatches. See related link for detailed explanation with screenshots.
edditing
select the hair, in the foreground color box choose the color desired, under edit menu choose fill. In the fill box choose fill with color in the drop down menu set opacity at 100%, then OK. You may have to tweak your color selection to get exactly what you desire
The easiest and quickest way is by using the Background Color Picker on the floating toolbar. At the very bottom of the toolbar, there are 2 color squares overlapping each other - the top is the foreground, the bottom is the background. Click on the background and use the eyedropper tool to pick the color you want, or enter the value in the boxes. You can also set the default background color from the Preferences panel (Edit - Preferences).
If you want to make a cell stand out, you can make the text bold, change the font and font size, make the cell italic, change the foreground or background color, and use borders.
Selection tools in Photoshop: Marquee Tools (M), Lasso Tools (L), Magic Wand and Quick selection (W). You can also select color from image as foreground or background color with Eyedropper Tool (I). Navigate with mouse above any tool in Photoshop and you will see tooltip with keyboard shortcut for that tool in parentheses.
