i have chickens and more and i have insurance.. This will differ from state to state, but a couple I know of would consider that a "hobby farm" as opposed to a homested. I have a friend that picked up 4 Alpaca's and had to reinsure as a hobby farm. Most animals are not considered "pets" and that moves you towards being a farm.
