Most likely you did not setup properly internet settings for the router. You need to know how your internet provider distributes ip addresses. Usually it happens through DHCP server. In order to get ip address from DHCP you need to know address(es) for the DNS server(s) and put them in your router internet connection properties.

EDIT: i think what you mean to say is How do you enable the network adapter (which allows the wireless connectivity) on windows 7. i dont know how but now you know what to look for... TO Google!
