he didnt it was the Japanese. the Japanese wanted revenge. during World War 1 ther Japanese were on the allies side but after the war the us put limits on the amout of arms the empire could hold because the Americans wanted absolute controll of the pacific. so when ww2 started the Japanese saw a chance to get involved and get revenge. (Hitler wasnt interested in the us he looked east to Russia and the oil fields the had that was his primary target but he never reach them.)

Hitler's main goal is outlined in his book Mein Kampf. The ultimate reason for going to war was "Lebensraum" or land. Hitler wanted this land in order to expand the German population (Aryan race) and he decided the Lebensraum would come from Russia. Hitler's military actions reveal his desire for Lebensraum; instead of pushing through Great Britain, Hitler decided to turn around and attack Russia, thereby creating a two-front war.

Russia had a vast amount of Natural Resources and one of them was oil. With Germany's mechanized army a great deal of oil and gas was needed and used to keep it going. This was one of the main reasons that Hitler wanted Russia.

Another was the Nazis fervent opposition to Communism. The Nazis beat up German Communists prior to Hitler's ascension to power in 1931. The German Communist Party was outlawed, as were all other political parties, and its leaders put into concentration camps and killed. The birthplace and powerbase of International Communism was Moscow. Defeating the USSR would show that Nazism is stronger than Communism.

Among the resources of the USSR was wheat from the Ukraine. Also fertile land. Germans had settled in Ukraine since the mid-1700's and prospered. A good place to settle more Germans to fulfill the Lebensraum = living space program, and assure bread for the Reich.

It also gave him a foothold into Asia. He was out for world domination. His whole mistake was when his troops went into Russia unprepared for the conditions they met and the people who fought them with everything they had.

False obviously. For 2 reasons, one if the US even tried, they would of succeeded. Another is that if the US wanted to defeat England then it would make more sense in just becoming allies with Hitler instead fighting with a country that you want to defeat.
