He told them the truth: they were being greedy and almost entirely the opposite of what they should have been as Christian leaders. Nobody likes being told they are wrong, especially when they know it to be true and when people might start to realise and do something about it. In their case, the easiest way out was to simply excommunicate him and denounce him as a heretic, or an evildoer of many types.

The church did not mad at all,but they only hate Luther accusation against them.It was a disrespect to give an allegation against the Pope, the successor of Saint Peter. If the Pope became bad and greed at that time,it was the fault of him and not worthy of his position.Luther for the Catholic is considered as an heretic.

Catholics do not hate Martin Luther, nor do they hate anyone who follows his teachings, even though the teachings differ in some aspects.

.

AnswerThis is a gross misunderstanding of history to believe that Catholics hate Martin Luther and those who follow his teachings. At the time Martin Luther was alive, he certainly did everything he could to provoke those in authority, he rejected the many offers of the Pope and Bishop to meet with him and discuss things, and he was hardly polite about it. Because of the way he talked about the Church, those who are not more familiar with history may believe that the Church hated him and his followers, but there has never been any truth to that. Catholics have no time for his teachings because they believe in the teachings of Jesus Christ, and all teachings contrary to His teachings are heresy, which Our Blessed Lord, and the Apostle, St. Paul, warned us about many times.

Catholic AnswerTo the best of my knowledge, the big thing that Catholics disliked about Martin Luther was that their princes used Martin Luther as an excuse to separate from the Vatican thus denying them access to the sacraments and eternal salvation.
