Many wanted to get away from something. It could be a religion that they believed in but their country didn't allow or there was no work. Many men were younger members of their families and that family didn't have resources to help them. Land rights always went to the oldest male.

Because they ran out of panda to import so they thought they would come steal some of ours to sell to the japanese thats why only Asia has any panda because the english sold them all :)
