Jahangir ordered the execution of Sikh Guru Arjan Dev Singh due to political and religious reasons. Arjan Dev Singh had actively supported his Sikh followers and the growth of Sikhism, which went against Jahangir's political agenda of promoting his own version of Islam in the region. Jahangir also perceived Sikhism as a threat to his authority.
