A:

The first New Testament gospel to be written was Mark's Gospel and, interestingly, in this gospel Jesus never claims to be the son of God. Jesus does not deny being the son of God, just he never actually makes that claim. Only outsiders call Jesus the Son of God. Jesus refers to himself as the Son of Man, while Peter calls him the Christ (anointed one). In Mark 3:11-12, the demons fall down and call Jesus the Son of God, but Jesus is quick to instruct them to tell no one, thus no more than an implied admission. The demons would know Jesus' divine status, but if this was a blasphemy then they were outsiders and brought no disrepute upon the Christian community. In Mark 10:18, Jesus says that he is not God, "Why call me good? There is none good but God," but he is not denying being the son of God.

It was possible for the later gospel authors who wrote Matthew and Luke to have the followers of Jesus refer to Jesus openly as the Son of God, as if the authors no longer had to prove that he is. Further, Matthew and Luke explain that Jesus was the Son of God because of Mary's miraculous conception while still a virgin.

It is in John, the last New Testament gospel to be written, that Jesus says that he is the son of God. In John 10:31-36, the Jews sought to stone Jesus because he said he was the son of God, which they said was blasphemy. This came back to haunt Jesus in verse 19:7 when the Jews to Pontius Pilate that Jesus must die because he made himself as the son of God. This may reflect hightening tensions between Christians and Jews in the decades between the writing of Mark's Gospel and that of John.

In the gospels, Jesus was never called king of the Jews by his own followers, but by Pilate and those who mocked him on the way to the crucifixion and on the cross.

In Matthew's nativity story, King Herod was upset because the magi from the east enquired as to where the baby was who would be king of the Jews. Presumably this was because he somehow feared for his throne.

In John, the Roman governor, Pontius Pilate, even goes as far as insisting that the writing on the cross say "JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS" and not that he claimed to be, as the priests wished. He did not seem perturbed at describing Jesus as king.

Simply because they could not accept the fact that Jesus was their king. They see him as a self-appointed missionary who is aiming to be in power... Hope that helps

Jesus was Jewish, but he didn't follow 100% of God's laws in the Torah. And some attitudes, such as "faith in me" sounded non-traditional to any Jews who happened to hear them.

In what ways was Jesus related to the Jews and to Jewish teaching?

Does be called a Jew stand for worshipping god?

I am not sure I understand the question, but Jews absolutely do worship and believe in God. Since Jesus was a Jew, it is certain that he too worshiped and believed in God. Jews are monotheists. They do not believe in any other deity, nor do they worship anyone except the One God, the same God that Jesus worshiped. But the word "Jew" refers to someone who believes in the Jewish religion. People who believe that Jesus was the messiah and the son of God are called Christians. Jews, while they respect their Christian friends and colleagues, do not believe Jesus was the messiah or the son of God. Jews believe the messiah has not yet been sent. Jews have some beliefs that are similar to Christians, but also many that are different. That said, Jews then and now have followed the teachings that were written in the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament); these were also the teachings that Jesus often quoted.

What are the teachings of Jesus based on?

Many of the teachings attributed to Jesus come from the hypothetical 'Q' document, used by Matthew and Lukeas a source for sayings of Jesus. In some cases, the teachings of Jesus are first reported in the Old Testament. For example, Leviticus 19:18, attributed to the Priestly source, says: "Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD. " Notice that here, 'neighbour' refers to the "children of thy people" - the Jews - not to all races. It was not until Luke's Gospel that Jesus enjoined his followers to love their enemies.

Who was angered by the teaching of Jesus?

Most Jews at the time, and for centuries afterward, never heard of him. But for those who did, the Christian narratives quote him as saying things that are not in keeping with Jewish tradition and beliefs.
