Therefore the people believed that his descendants one day would come back and rule them once again.
When Cortéz and his men came with weapons, clothes and bigger ships than they had ever seen, they believed Cortéz was him.

∙ 13y agoMotecuhzoma was under the impression that Cortes could have been one of the Mayan gods. And even if Cortes was not, the Spanish had with them weapons that would very easily take the Mayan Nation.
