Their women had no rights and were effectively slaves of the menfolk.
They had large slave populations - perhaps a third of the total.
Amongst the male Greek citizens there was economic, social and political division. The Athenian experiment with radical democracy failed, and rights became limited again.

Greece has a rocky mountainous landscape, so they couldn't grow a lot of crops this meant they had to find resources from other places. As a result Ancient Greece became a trading society along the Mediterranean and worked and sold items along the coast. They ended up establishing colonies to help with their trading.

Well...ancient Greeks thought that humans were made up of four Humors. The humors were blood, black bile, yellow bile and phlegm (said Flem, means snot) if you were healthy it meant all your humors were balanced, so...you had an equal amount of each humor. If you had a fever it meant you had to much blood, so the doctors would cut your arm until you lost enough blood and then they would tie it up and stop the bleeding or...you would be covered in slimy, horrible blood sucking creatures called leeches.
