Low caste Hindus, like Sudras and Untouchables could not expect to have a good economic situation, protection, and privileges. There was no opportunity for advancement or improvement because they were seen as being inferior human beings. Islam claimed that all people were equally and could all attain what they wished to do. This made Islam much more appealing to Sudras and Untouchables because it liberated them from being forced to the bottom of the social ladder.
