There are actually several reasons outlined in the Declaration of Independence but the two biggest reasons were unlawful taxation without consent or proper representation and the use of military troops against civilians. Colonists also had grievances against the forced quartering of troops. King George would basically allow troops to take over a private residence and occupy it by force. King George basically violated every right listed in our (American) Bill of Rights.
