*For most of the war the two sides were very evenly matched. *The development of themachine gun (combined with poor tactics)turned every battle into a massacre. *Both sides had industrial economies that matched one another and could keep up with one another in terms of output, and so on. *The generals on both sides were extremely stupid, verging on the feeble-minded. They relied again and again on 'more of the same' - more men, more machine guns, more shelling. When one side invented something new - the tank - and worked out how to use it properly, it won quickly and easily! Joncey

Why are western dragons so evil?

Dear Question Asker, Well, they're so evil because the castle men are mean to them. The castle men try to kill them with their spears. The king of the castle wants the dragons to die because the dragons are eating all of their lettuce. And you know how the castle people love their lettuce! Anyway the western dragons are so evil because of the cruel and rude castle men. I'm sorry to tell you this but the western dragons are going extinct. :'( I know, it's disappointing. But that's just the way the castle people live. I hope I helped you answer your question! If you have anymore questions about dragons (AND YES THEY DO EXIST.. THAT'S FOR ALL OF YOU NON-BELIEVERS OUT THERE), please post them and I will happily respond :] Well my dragon in my back yard is starting to eat from my lettuce garden! We can't have them eating our lettuce now can we? I have to go now...! XOXOXO Kisses and huggies (and not the diapers!) Love, Gurgles<3

Why did so many men die in the western front?

The trench warfare was just either side of the enemies getting bogged down that kept both sides in virtually the same positions for years. This has also turned WW1 into a war of attrition, a war based on wearing the other side down by constant attacks and heavy losses.

What did trench warfare cause on the western front?

well in most cases men were damaged after experiencing the horrors on the western front (i.e Passchendale & the Somme). Thousands of men had lost freinds in battalions and so was even more personal to watch a fellow soldier die. On the western front in particular, as many bloody battles took place on the border of France. Many men committed suicide after experiencing these horrors. It was said some men shot themselves in the foot with their fingers crossed they wouldn't be killed by their own bullet and could be saved and sent home.
