∙ 10y agoBecause it inhibit the freedom of the East Germans and was uner communist rule that deprived the germans of basic necessities. Did you know that innocent little east german kids were so hungry that they licked the lids of trash cans. They literally had no food. There was, however, the Berlin Airlift by USA which brought supplies to East Germany.

The wall was primarily destroyed in 1990. The fall of the Berlin Wall paved the way for German reunification, which was formally concluded on 3 October 1990.
