Not sure the English were ever given the choice...... King Edward I was the Hammer of the Scots in the 14th century & his son, Edward II was defeated by Bruce at Bannockburn in 1314. The countries were united by King James VI in 1603 (He became James I) Apparently there was a kingdom of both England & Scotland at one time prior to the Norman conquest..... & there are moves afoot for Scottish independance at the present. I keep telling people, (our transatlantic cousins !) not to refer to UK as England, but apparrently this was perfectly permissible & correct until Scottish devolution raised its head in the 1930s......
Yes, the salt march gave a large impact for the British. At once they thought they should leave india and let it be an independent country
As someone who has lived in Scotland all his life I can honestly say that it can and most likely will rain at some point during your visit to this country, but don't let that put you off. It's just part of the whole Scottish experience, I will say however, if you are intending to do any hill walking keep a close eye on the weather as it can change very quickly. I hope this answers your question.

no, let them be independent
to my knowledge it is the United States of America. To this I answer. This country is composed of immigrants and their native language is other than English. That being the case, by and large, this is an English speaking country, however, if English is to prevail, then i simply state: English speaking people and officials, learn the correct English as spoken in England. after all, our founders spoke such language. so let us be fair about it.
