i had the exact same problem with my 93 s10. i replaced the fuel filter thinking it might have been clogged. it ran fine for about a week and it shut off in the exact same spot. so i left it there, it got broken into, we got it back to my house changed the fuel pump relay (closest to the driverside fender) you could hear the fuel pump kick on but it wasnt getting enought fuel to the injectors so we changed out yet another fuel filter. that wasnt it so we went to a local auto parts store bought a fuel pump and the ring to hold it in for about $80. the easiest way to get to the fuel pump specially if your truck is lowered is to take the box off. the fuel pump is right there on the fuel tank. its pretty easy to take apart and put back together. so what would have cost me $550 only cost me $80. if you cant hear the fuel pump kick on it could either be a $10 relay or just the fuel pump. and if you can hear the fuel pump kick on but it doesnt want to start change out the fuel filter if you havent tried it already. and then if it still doesnt work change the fuel pump. and if it does work you have a few new parts that hopefully you wont have to worry about for a while. BUY THE MOST EXPENSIVE PUMP FROM THE STORE! YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. IF ITS CHEAP IT WONT LAST LONG.
It has an automatic fuel shutoff. The Chevrolet S10 does not use a inertia fuel shut down switch, that's a Ford thing.
cracked heads or block
i don't believe blazers have fuel shut-offs, Jason
i have been told by a gm actory trained mechanic that my 99 s10 2.2 has no fuel shut off other than relay or fuse, make sure grounds at rear of frame are good or truck will not start-nor will pump run as these are main vehicle grounds-stupid i know but experience told me this was tue
The fuel shut off valve on a 2000 Chevy S10 pickup is located just outside the gas tank. It is designed to shut fuel off to the fuel pump in the event of an accident to prevent a fire and to kill the engine.
Start with a fuel pressure test. Pump running with engine off you should have 60-66 max PSI. Turn the pump off, pressure will drop to aprox 52 then it should hold.

Your 1991 4.3 S10 could be having mechanic problems that is why it starts for a couple of seconds then it shuts down.A plugged up fuel filter could cause that. Replace the fuel filter first before you start throwing big money into it.A possible factor for a 1991 S10 not staying started is a bad alternator, or starter.
ecm is bad, if you disconnect the pos battery cable for a few seconds it should fire back up, but that's only good till you shut it off again.
possibly bad o2 sensors! Check ignition switch
security light on 1998 s10 start but cut off
the engine probably flooding. The fuel filter may be plugged up, replace it.
