The Soviets and Chinese feared that if the Geneva talks failed, the war in Indochina would continue and the United States might join the fight. They didn't want the United States to get involved because they knew that if we got in that we would annialate them. And the only reason we didn't win is because ewe thought we'd be nice and let someone else win for once because we're just good people like that. But all the other countries knew that if we didn't want them to win then we would've just made that whole country a parking lot. And allot of people would've died, so as usual they were scared like they should be cause America is a beast and we just kill everything we don't even care.
