In 1868, Atlanta became the official capital of Georgia. Georgia has had five different state capitals. They were in order; Savannah, Augusta (between 1782 and 1785, Savannah and Augusta were rotating capitals), Louisville, Milledgeville and the current capital of Atlanta.
