Because Grant had ended the system of prisoner-exchange, so the Confederates were bound to run out of men first.

Also, when Sherman was crossing Georgia, news reached Lee's army in Virginia, which contained many Georgian regiments. Those soldiers felt they were needed at home, and deserted in large numbers.

they didn't have enough men, food or land in order to continue or to defeat the union the union had more men, food and land the confederates were being blockaded and that's why they didn't have enough supplies with not enough land they didn't have sufficient enough troops to serve these all went in effect when they lost.

It was smaller, didn't have as many weapons, didn't have a navy, had less railroads, and later on in the war it became increasingly hard to feed Confederate troops (the last one is weird considering most of the farms and plantations were in the South).

The soldiers were far from inferior to the northerners. In fact, they were better fighters overall.

Sherman said he could beat any country on earth with southern infantry and northern artillery.

Lee found it impossible to keep his army reinforced and resupplied, especially after Sherman's March to the Sea destroyed the Confederate infrastructure of agriculture and transportation. Plus, Grant put constant pressure on Lee's forces, preventing them from regrouping until they went to ground at Petersburg.
