The invasion of Poland is the event that signifies the beginning of World War 2. Prior this there had been maneuvering with treaties and political threats. The miltary combat were classified as regional conflicts or internal civil wars. 1 September 1939 is considered the start date for the WW2.

The invasion of Poland led to the moblization of France and Britain. It also led to the displacement of thousands of members of the Polish military who then helped the Allies during the rest of the war.im My opinion i feel none really gives a hoot about it. That was back then, now is all that matters.

It is that important because Poland was first country that decided to defend its borders (not like Austria or Czechoslovakia) German Blitzkrieg was used in Poland for the first time, and Polish soldiers showed great determination during September campaign in 1939.
