∙ 16y agoLincoln had just been elected, the south believed that because a republican had been elected, they didn't have a voice in the government. So most of the southern states susceeded, and became The Confederate States. In truth, the north actually waged war against the south, to try and fix the union.

Well. There is an answer to this. But I don't know what it is. The South wanted Slavery, and the North did not. After the war with Mexico, there really was no where else for southern farmers to expand to, so fighting broke out.
