It probably wasn't the ends to begin with. Start looking for loose wires starting with the ends if the battery tested good.

You can if you plan to convert all of your electrical system, starter, lights, gauges and accessories to 24 also. And change your battery to 2 batteries connected in series. Why would you want to??
Some times the battery will have enough power to turn lights on but not enough to turn the engine over. Try to jump start it or replace battery with one you know is charged. By the way-nice car.
Well is your battery putting out enough voltage to power the gauges? On my 66 corvette I have to really step on the gas and then my gauge lights come on.
Check headlights and dashboard lights first. If no/minimal power for the lights then replace battery.
Turn the lights on then disconnect the battery. This well keep the lights in the up position.

if you have no headlights the battery is dead or one of therminals is very corroded.
