Alternator may not be charging battery sufficiently- check with a voltmeter A fully charged battery should read approx. 12.8 volts without engine running With engine running should read approx. 13.8-14.2 volts
The Chrysler Cirrus did not come out until 1995. You reset the check engine light with a scan tool or by unhooking the battery. If you have not repaired the cause of the code the light will come back on.
A bad stator causes the battery not to charge. That makes the battery light come on. Some other things that can cause the battery light to come on are corroded or frayed cables or connections or a loose/bad ground cable.
