Roman Catholic Answer
Every single human being on this earth, whether they are Jew or gentile, whether they lived 2000 BC or 2000 AD, everyone of them is a sinner, and every one of us is responsible for the death of Our Blessed Savior, the Jews in the first century A.D. no more nor less than any of the rest of us. Regardless, we are all called by God to love one another and how we treat the person right in front of us, regardless of his nationality, race, or religion, is how we are treating Our Blessed Savior, and how we will be judged at the end of our life. So that is why we love Jews, Muslims, Orthodox, and everyone else, because God has told us that is what we must do.
The Pope himself has said that the Jews are not to blame in the killing of Jesus. See:
The same God worshipped by Jews, Muslims, and all other areas of Christianity
Christians, Catholics, and Mormons all worship God in his namesake. However, Muslims and Jews also worship God, they just have different names for him.
the holocaust Hebrew for "destruction" and by god it was
Because the Jews didn't believe that Jesus was God. So the Jews crucified Jesus for blasphemy. And I'm pretty sure the Jews and other Religions think the Roman Catholics are stupid, so, they criticize us Roman Catholics.
Protestants, Jews and Catholics number the commandments differently. To Protestants and Jews, the second commandment deals mostly with idolatry and has no effect of vows. To Catholics, the second commandment forbids taking God's name in vain, which can be interpreted as forbidding taking a vow in God's name with the intent not to keep it.
God forgives their sins in the same way as He forgives the sins of Muslims or Buddhists or Hindus or... He forgives them if they repent. As Jews are not Catholics (or Orthodox), they cannot go to confession.
Other than the fact that they all hold to the fact that there is One God who created everything, everything else is pretty much different. Our Blessed Lord, Jesus Christ would be a prime example. Jews reject Him as the Messiah, Catholics regard Him as God, and Muslims regard Him as a prophet.
Other than being people, on a religious level, the only thing Jewish and Catholics have in common are the worship of a god. This is because the teachings of Catholicism are diametrically opposed to those of Judaism.
It should actually be Saturday and not Sunday. Saturday is the Sabbath for Jews and some Christians, but Catholics and most major Protestant sects observe Sunday as the Sabbath, but Catholics may attend Saturday evening Mass , as the Jews observe from sundown Friday to sundown Saturday, Catholics now may attend Mass from Saturday thru Sunday.
The Jewish God is considered the Father of all. Just like any other religion, Jews show honor and respect to their God.
No, Catholics do not commit idolatry. Catholics worship only God.
No, Catholics simply embrace God the being. They also believe that Jesus Christ is God and the Son of God.
