Because it is our way of giving back to God so that He may use that money to do good things for others. It's also how the church is run and how people working there get paid, they are paid only by donations and volunteered money. Not by the government.

Christians believe in following the teachings of Jesus, who emphasized the importance of caring for those in need. Giving to charity is seen as a way to show love and compassion towards others, as well as a way to live out the values of generosity and selflessness taught in The Bible. Christians see giving as a reflection of their faith and a way to help make a positive impact in the world.

christians give money to charity because charity's help people less fortunate. christians like to feel good about themsleves so that there is always a place in heaven for them(:

Works are not the way to Heaven, faith in the atonement of Christ is. Alms are spoken of in the New Testament, as a gift, a free will offering, usually a benevolent offering. Jesus himself tells his followers :

Luk 12:33 Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth. [Blueletterbible.com, KJV]

and He talks about the right use and way of giving alms, in secret so that it is only between the giver and God. We are not to 'trumpet' our giving:

Mat 6:2 Therefore when thou doest [thine] alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
We are to give our alms as unto the Lord, and the reward is then a divine one between Him and the giver. Too many today give expecting something in return. For a further study, visit blueletterbible.com or other online bibles, and search for the word 'alms' to find the meaning of the word ( it means 'mercy' or 'pity' as in a donation to the poor; the word in Greek is eleēmosynē) and the 13 verses associated with the word.

The Old Testament has a similar concept, but the word 'offering' is used more frequently.

A:Some Christians give to charity and some do not. Those who do give are motivated by a variety of reasons, of which religious conviction is only one. It is surprising how many Christians believe that people must be religious to perform good deeds, even though Bill Gates and Warren Buffett are the world's most generous philanthropists.

We are motivated by Jesus Christ. We want to show others the love of Christ, because he loves us and wants us to show his love through us.

Why do people choose not to go to church on Sundays?

OpinionFor some, it is a matter of limited time and too many priorites, but they feel they are still Christians even if they do not give time to religious observance. For others, their faith is not so strong that they feel obliged to make any commitment of their time to religious observance. Others do not really hold religious views at all, and are merely nominal Christians or feel that it is more 'respectable' to profess to be Christians even when this is not really true.AnswerSome Christians do not attend church on Sundays because they choose Saturday as the day to worship. Others do not attend a formal church but observe a time of worship in their own home. This may be due to distance from a suitable church, or inability to find a church that fits their beliefs.

What do Christians teach about charity?

The Scriptures teach us that we are to help those in need, even if it means we have to make a tremendous sacrifice to do it. God will honor your giving especially if you do it without others knowing. It also notes little is much. For example, if you give a million coins boastfully, giving one of those joyfully and with your heart in it is more.
