the reason Aboriginals get more benefits then the mainstream Australia; IE white Australians (yes i am white), is because we have taught not only the aboriginal people but also the youth of this country (I'm only 24) that the past grievances of the people are still as problematic today as they were many years ago... the sins of our fathers plague our sons. We have stripped the rights of the aboriginal people to integrate with mainstream Australia by holding their hands and giving them "sit down" benefit's. By protecting the aboriginals and isolating the rest of the Australian population, we as a country have created a generation of people who are entirely dependant on taxpayer funded handouts and benefit's. I think it would be hard to find many people who would not take advantage of a benefit scheme as the aboriginals are... when the scheme is removed or threatened, the aboriginals and do-gooder Australians jump up and down and call racist. As we are a multicultural country, this is a terrifying thing, so the government keeps the benefit's.
