Cats do this to cover the scent of their urine and feces so that predators will not be able to find them easily.
All cats cover their poop. It's just an instinct that had carried on from their ancestors. Back then, cats still covered their poop to cover their scent, so predators couldn't track them. Hope this helps! ~Peyton
Cats scratch their body a lot because it itches. It itches probably from a flea biting at their skin. Or just like you and me, the hair on our arms make our arms scratch, same goes for cats and their hair on their body.
They have had enough to eat and a trying to cover up what is left so that nobody else eats it.
they are predators, it is advantageous to most predators not to leave their scent around to be detected by their prey.
Cats scratch their claws for the same reason that we file our nails. They scratch their claws so that they won't grow to long.
Because they have ran out of places to scratch so they move on to scratch their poo.
They hide their ßhįt.

first of all, cat scratch fever is harmless, and i would know because i had it before. no, you do not have to get rid of your cats. cat scratch fever lasts a while, i don't know all of the symptoms, but i do know it gives you a rash on your neck, across your chest and inside the crease in your legs and arms. i have three cats and while i had CSF, and i didn't have to get rid of them. hope that helped :) :)
Cats have to scratch for their claws to stay healthy. Introduce them to a cat scratching post. Place the cat's feet on it as you hold the cat in an upright position and rub the feet on the post. Sometimes placing a toy or the scent of cat nip on the post will intice them more. Continue to encourage the cat to use the post. Eventually, it should get the hint. You don't want the cat to never have something to scratch. Their claws could become abnormally long or twisted and cause them and you problems. If your cat has a particular place he/she likes to scratch, then you could place the post in front of it and after a week or 2 put the post a little bit away from the spot. Continue that and eventually your cat will seek out the post on its own.
