Two commercial jets filled with 10,000 gallons of jet fuel crashed into the World Trade Center towers, cutting off all the elevators and severely damaging the structure of the building. The fire alone couldn't have melted steel, but the fire with the pressure from above, bent the support structure that was damaged by the jet. Once one floor collapsed, the rest followed.
