∙ 10y agoMilkweed is poisonous. As the caterpillars feed on it, they store the toxins in their own bodies and become poisonous themselves. They even take the toxins to their butterfly form, which is why monarchs are bright orange and black! Nothing will eat them because they taste so foul.
