- Some people hold grudges when that particular person or a group of people have hurt them because they feel embarrassed and out of control and sometimes do not know how to handle this type of situation so they silently hold a grudge. Holding a grudge against one or more persons for a long period of time is a waste of energy. People who hurt another with words or try to demean them in other ways aren't worth holding a grudge against them because they will eventually hang themselves with their own rope.
